So shocked and happy I got in!!!

I think a bunch of Science majors have yet to come out. Applied for Marine Biology and still waiting for a decision.

My date changed from October 8th to February 22nd but status still says pending

has anyone sent their transcripts yet? is it supposed to be addressed to the school of nursing or something?

@liquidsugar. Pretty sure it’s to the Admissions office.

Has anyone got in for aerospace engineering?

@Maryland17 date for my son still shows December.

I received a financial aid email but no acceptance. Did everyone receive an email about a month after filing the app saying this is what SDSU will cost? I applied for Media Art. Has anyone heard from that department yet?

@happychick1:
I know that UCI nursing has a lower acceptance rate than SDSU’s around 3.5 % vs around 7% for SDSU.

Fall 2016 freshman applicants: 2,264
Fall 2016 freshman admissions: 82 (3.5 percent admitted)
Average UC GPA: 4.25 GPA
Average total SAT score: 1962

SAT/ACT scores
To remain competitive in the applicant pool, you should score a minimum of 550 in each of the three areas on the SAT test: critical reading, mathematics and writing, or score a 24 or higher on the ACT. Students who do not meet this minimum requirement will not be reviewed for admission into the Nursing Science program.

Here is more information on their program:

@nafphoto I also received a financial aid email about a month after applying. At the time, I thought it might mean something - but if it did, I would have expected an acceptance letter soon after. This was back in December and I’m still ‘pending’, so I’m guessing it’s something they send to everybody.

On my admission letter it says I “must maintain your reported overall GPA” in order for the admission to still be considered. Does that mean if I had a CSU GPA of 4.14, I will have to have at least a 4.14 in my classes senior year or my admission will be withdrawn?

Does anyone know why some people have been accepted/rejected in certain majors while others in that same major still have pending status? My friend (don’t know her stats, but she is smart enough that Cal Poly accepted her) is an instate/non-local nutrition major and still has “Admission status pending” while other nutrition majors on this forum have already heard back (instate and oos). Is this a sign she’s been rejected or is she worrying for nothing? Any reason behind her getting a delayed admission result?

@nurse8991: The statement you “must maintain your reported overall GPA” is flexible. They do no want to see your grades go from A’s and B’s, to B’s and C’s. You would really have to screw up big time for them to rescind your acceptance.

@olivia222: Tell your friend that until she gets a decison: Accepted/Waitlisted or Rejected that she is still in the running. Only admissions can comment on your question, why some majors have not heard and some have…
Sorry, cannot be any more help but decisions should be trickling out through March.

@gumbymom thank you! you’ve been so much help for many people in this thread, I appreciate it!

in past years, were all nursing admits notified on the same day? just wondering if any more nursing acceptances will still come out

@Gumbymom Alright thank you so much for the advice I’ll let her know! Hopefully she’ll hear back soon since everyone else seems to have heard recently

@Gumbymom Thank you so much for your information regarding Irvine! You’re so helpful

@Gumbymom SDSU Nursing freshman acceptance rate was 5.4% last year on the SDSU official statistics page. My counselor showed me this link: https://asir.sdsu.edu/applications-by-major/
232/4276 = 5.4%
But she doesn’t know if the Nursing page or the SDSU Statistics page is more current. Counselors use the Statistics page.

@davisgirl: I saw the discrepancy so I was not sure which is correct. I figured the Nursing website would be the most accurate but either way, 5.4 or 7%, it really is a tough admit.
