@staystrong0 Congrats! What are your stats? Were you accepted on Feb 24 or another date?
Does anyone know when SDSU will award financial aid packages including the scholarships which had a deadline of Feb 10?
Is there a GroupMe for SDSU?
Hey everyone! I’m new to College Confidential, but been following the forums for a bit now. I am excited for this, SDSU is my first choice school, although I’m still waiting on the decision.
Decision: Pending
CSU GPA: 3.34
SAT: 1710?? I took it back in like 2012-2013 when I graduated high school.
Intended Major: Kinesiology: Exercise Science Generalist Emphasis
CA Resident: Yes, non local. From the bay area.
@AnonymousCrash: So are you a transfer or a Freshman applicant?
@Gumbymom I’m a transfer student! Coming from De Anza community college. Haha sorry, forgot to mention that.
@AnonymousCrash: If you are transfer student then your SAT has no bearing on your admissions decision. It will come down your College GPA and if you are local or non-local.
Oh yeah I know that, I just copied the first post and was filling in my answers. I didn’t think it mattered but I filled it in anyways, and now I don’t know how to edit the post so I just left it.
@davisgirl thanks! 1860 sat and 3.8? gpa. yup on feb 24! yup im still waiting for financial aid package too
how was preview day guys?
@liquidsugar - It was very informative! The campus is gorgeous, although a bit confusing to get around. The dorms are pretty decent, although I wasn’t as fond of Olmeca Residence Hall as I was of Cuicacalli! I didn’t get to see a lot of the extracurriculars and clubs, but they were numerous.
Explore SDSU was an impressive event. Lots of clubs, lots of things to do, and lots of student pride. I wished we had more time to do it all. It was too packed in a few hours and missed some events and tours my D wanted to attend. We come away with a very positive feeling. My D is seriously considering attending after the Psychology department tour, the art center, and the Honors reception. SDSU is trying very hard to attract top students with the many opportunities for research, internships, and community involvements. After a disappointing wait list at UCSD, we feel strongly SDSU seems like a solid school with tons of things to do.
We loved it! This Aztec alum is hoping her daughter will choose to attend, but the major downside for my daughter is geography…we live only 15 minutes away. And of course I understand because I also “went away” to college…that’s how I came to San Diego…and I stayed! So I will allow her to go away to college as well if that’s what she chooses to do. Congrats to all who will be attending. Go Aztecs!
@luckymom22. Opposite issue here. I am also an alum and live 30mn away in North County. My D wants to stay local so she is seriously considering becoming an Aztec.
@regularperson I agree! The campus was absolutely breath taking, far better than the UCs I have visited (except UCLA). However, it was so hard to read the map! I missed out on some of the events.
sounds like it was a good time! by any chance, did anyone find out which residence hall the nursing community lives in?
My daughter got into the nursing program, and yesterday we paid the $400 intent deposit and started the Housing Agreement. For her class, SDSU now makes the nursing students live on campus for two years. We had to sign an agreement that she’d commit to this. She’s fine with this, and supposedly the second year they can choose on campus suites or apartments. I have the same question as @liquidsugar , what hall does SDSU have the nurses live in freshman year? What meal plan are most of you going with? Cheers!
@Happychick1 This question was asked during the nursing workshop, but the student advisor said they change it every year and is unsure of what they will pick this year. I will also be attending SDSU nursing this fall, and I’m going with the flex 5 meal plan because my parents want me back home on the weekends… Really depends on your D’s situation! Congratulations on her admission by the way!
