My daughter will be applying for freshman admission, fall 2019.
She is in-state, but not from the San Diego area.
Weighted 10-12 gpa is 4.17. ACT is 26, but she is studying hard and re-taking in September.
We are trying to decide if she should apply as undeclared, which seems to have an admit rate of about 40%, or as a health communication major, which has an admit rate of about 35%. She really isn’t sure what she wants to do career wise, but she is interested in the health care field.
Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated!! Gumbymom?!
I think she stands a good chance at an acceptance if her CSU GPA is 4.17 and her ACT is 26, but retaking the ACT with a goal of at least 28+ will definitely help her chances.
Undeclared was the 2nd most popular major applied to at SDSU with Biology being 1st so I would have her consider the Health communication major. Although the Health communication major is slightly more selective, there are far less applicants than Undeclared. Health communication # applicants for 2017 was 111 to 4495 for Undeclared.*
Since 2018 admission data is not available, I am referencing the 2017 data* and I do know that SDSU’s selectivity has continued to climb along with the # of applicants.
