<p>Hey guys! I was wondering if anbody could give me some good information on SFSU. I've been looking for reviews on it and such, and I found some stuff, but not much.</p>

<p>Do they have a good English department? I'd like to be an English Lit. major.</p>

<p>Oh, and I've heard people say it's a "no-name state school", but could you guys please refrain from saying stuff like this? I'm not obsessed with name value and prestige like some people.</p>

<p>They have a very good English department. The Poetry Center is located at SFSU and they bring in major writers almost every week for readings and other events. They also have a fabulous archive of recordings and videos of writers who have read there, and in San Francisco since the 40's. SF State has always been a central focus of new writing in the Bay Area.</p>
