hey guys! I just got admitted yesterday night and I’m from SoCal I was wondering if anyone could give me an overall feel of what SJSU is like?? Not many people from my area attend/apply to NorCal schools haha thank you in advance!
I was curious too and I found that youtube videos give you a really good feel of what the campus is like
if I’m local and I didn’t get an acceptance yet, does that mean rejected
@kanyejess I also got accepted yesterday, and I’m from the Bay so I can help you out!! We’re pretty chill, the music is always hyphy, and I can guarantee that we have the best boba san jose in particular is really nice compared to the rest of the bay because there’s so much to do in that area so it’s a lot of fun

To all admitted applicants, there will be a mega-thread on the San Jose State reddit (/r/SJSU) on February 25th, 2017 at 8:00 PM PST for both freshman and transfers. You may ask questions about SJSU in order to approach your decision more on whether to attend here or not.
Congrats, Spartan Up!
To those who are waiting, most decisions should be released on February 25th and rolling after (according to College Board). If you got an acceptance before that day, I assume that you must have had the application for SJSU at this time.
Please take your questions here and you can comment on the mega-thread. If it is urgent, please message me on here with no hesitation. I have my notifications disabled so I may not respond here quickly.

Hey , I just got my heart broken into a million pieces. I applied at sjsu for fall 2016, got accepted to only to miss the orientation due to illness and being hospitalized. So I got withdrawn and made to apply for the next fall. I did the whole application process again to receive an email right now saying I got withdrawn because I didn’t meet the standard. I am so broken, I’ve been waiting for this moment for a year now and I don’t know what do with myself. Is there anything I can do, would it even be worth it to try and appeal?
Sorry, @dbango …
Why would you not meet the standard now, if you qualified for admission a year ago?
If you don’t understand why this happened, definitely pursue it with them. Mistakes do happen. Maybe they’re just missing some piece of documentation or something of the sort, that could be corrected. Good luck!
I’m gonna take myself to their office tmrow morning, I didn’t know it was possible for an email to break a man down like this. Would it be worth a try to do an appeal? Who do I see about this. The sjsu orientation team and admissions are terrible and mean people. I’ve dealt with them in the past to no avail
Yeah, definitely go check it out. Who knows - a formal appeal may not even be necessary. This obviously isn’t an ordinary “sorry, you just didn’t make the cut this time” denial - it sounds like you were disqualified because of some unmet requirement. Yet, since you were admitted last year, you must have met the requirements then, and it’s not like your HS grades, scores, etc. are any less valid than they were a year ago. So, to me, it sounds like a paperwork snafu.
Did you apply to other CSU’s, or just SJSU?
Rejected
