San Jose State On Campus Living

Hey everyone. That time of year again… i got accepted into SJSU for business and had a quick question regarding housing. I want to live on campus the first year, as I’m coming from San Diego and feel this is the best way to engage in the school as a non local. I went on a school tour a few months back where I recall the college rep talking about all the new buildings and suites for student living. He mentioned something about a dorm/suite/apartment on campus that was faurly new or is brand new and requires students to be in eitherthe business or engineering department regardless of being a freshman. If anyone knows what exactly this is or what my best option may be that would be great. Any advice of recommendations about SJ dorms would help, as I will get some financial aid and it’s a relatively cheap campus I don’t have a cap price for any of the on campus options, thanks!!

http://www.housing.sjsu.edu/prospectiveresidents/firsttimefreshmen/ describes the SJSU frosh housing options. The business and engineering theme sections are in the suite buildings, while the other theme sections are in the traditional buildings.

Most frosh graduating from high schools from more than 30 miles away are required to live in the campus housing: http://www.housing.sjsu.edu/housingaz/freshmanoncampushousing/ .

Thank you, great links! Lastly, the new building that is set to open Fall 2016…is that A. Available right away in fall and B. What are the requirements to live there? Thanks Again
