SJSU Transfer (Junior) Housing Question

Alright so in the ideal world I’d like to stay at home with my parents until I graduate, but I have such a toxic relationship with my mother and I can’t take it anymore. I’m a local here in San Jose and I’d like to move into dorms come this fall. I don’t want to go any further in depth so I’ll cut to the chase.

I’m most likely going to be working whilst attending uni to help pay for housing but I’m damn sure I still need to take up loans to cover the costs. I just have a couple questions:

I know there are many loans out there, but what’s the best option if I’d like to pay it off after I graduate?

Furthermore, I can pay for housing with loans, right?

How do SJSU housing installments work? Do you pay monthly? Do you pay at the end of the semester?

What housing buildings are available for transfer students?

Anything else I should know about housing that I didn’t cover?

Anyone who responds to this with some advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Idk but im a transfer for 2018 from San Diego and im not doing dorms. But defintely look for off campus housing. Thats what im trying to do. There is a facebook group called “SJSU Off Campus Housing”. Yeah you don’t get the glory of being on campus, but if you snoop around your room can be at least within a mile of school and if you share a room with someone best case scenario you’re paying like 500-600 a month instead of those outrageous doem costs. I got quoted for a direct stafford loan from FAFSA for like $6,500 for the adacmic year. Thats good enough for rent which for theoritically $600 a month is like 5k for the academic year and I will work this summer at the San Diego County Fair where I rake in like $1,500 to cover other living expenses like food and utilities so I dont have to worry about pulling out unecessary loans or trying to work while going to school full time and annihilating my gpa during the school year.
