Santa Clara University

Does anyone know anything about this school? Can you enlighten me? I applied EA and am hoping to recieve some good scholarship.

well if u applied EA hopefully u know about the school

I mean like reputation, campus, student life- ect?

Being from the area, I can tell you that SCU's reputation is ok. It's fairly strong in the Santa Clara valley -- primarily amongst other SCU grads. Lives in the shadow of UCB and Stanford to the north but attracts some relatively bright students. Not sure if the high tuition is justified.
Campus and student life are solid. Student body composed more of upper middle class kids; not as diverse as, say, SJSU, which isn't unexpected seeing as it's a private school in Silicon Valley.

one of our really close friends is a freshmen bball player @ SCU, they got a full ride so they went, but accademically its not that stimulating, and UCB and Stanford pretty much are the top notch schools in the Bay Area

I've heard nothing but good things about it, and all the student reviews I have read have been great. It's supposed to have really great academics (as is common with Jesuit schools) and a nice campus. A little bit secluded, but not too far from SF.

Obviously it doesn't have the prestige of Stanford or Berkeley, but as long as you go in knowing that, I think you'll be happy with your education.

that is what i've heard. really good academics, personal attention, and good connections with the valley. because its jesuit do you think they'll like kids coming in with a lot of community service and possibly considered them for some more merit aid?
