Well, this is definitely apples and oranges , but:

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to which would be a stronger undergrad program ( better reputation in the respective field of study)?

Cultural Anthropology at UCSC
or

English ( teaching emphasis) at UCD

Looking to help identify a pros and cons. Aware that,in general, Davis is somehwhat more highly regarded as an academic institution. However, also hear that UCSC is nicely focused on undergrads and has an incredibly beautiful campus.

Ah yes, you and I are in a similar boat.

Sorry, I realize you will see this reply in hope that it will be an answer to your question, or at least something helpful. But no, it's just someone with the same problem. Isn't that annoying?

anyone know anything about these departments???

Hi Weasel...no not annoying. At least you responded!

ive heard ucd to be prestigious in the teaching department if that helps...my sister goes there...she wants to be a teacher and they are very good in that area..supposedly...if this is helpful at all to you...personally i think ucd is an all around better school. its well known (name recognition for jobs) and very cute college town...ucsc more woodsy and environmental
