Santa Fe -> UF or Straight through UF

Hello Everyone,
I am currently a freshman at the University of Florida and very much enjoy attending this College. My concern resides mostly on the economic perspective. As of right now, I am incurring 8k in debt every year (Two terms). My plan is to enter a health-orientated field (Nursing), and then possibly apply for a graduate program (Medical School, PT Program, PA Program) after a couple of years of experience as a nurse. At Santa Fe I would be achieving my AA in Nursing and have extra money in hand. The objective would be to go to Santa Fe and then after getting my AA apply for a transfer to UF to get my BSN. My question then is which route to be the better one as a long term investment? Would it be difficult to come back to UF after acquiring my AA in Nursing at Santa Fe?

I would greatly appreciate informative responses

Thank You,

I would be worried about not getting back into UF

Check with an advisor at UF and Santa Fe. I know it’s a competitive major, so find out what’s required to have a solid chance at acceptances back into the Nursing program from Santa Fe…

60-70% of Santa Fe College AA graduates who apply to the University of Florida are accepted (Source: http://www.sfcollege.edu/gators/). Most working RNs get their AA and ASN from SF and get work experience, then go back for their BSN from either UF or SF (SF’s BSN program is geared to working RNs: http://www.sfcollege.edu/programs/5400). It is a fully accredited baccalaureate degree, and graduates are able to aply for graduate school after receiving the BSN.
