So I had a rough semester this spring and now my financial aid has been denied. I had four classes, passed two with C's but the other two I got F's. It was just a stressful semester, where everything happened at once and I struggled to focus on my school work. I just moved out from my parents house, tried to find a job for months and failed, worried about money and my grandmother was sick (she passed away last week...). Without financial aid I'm screwed, not only can I not afford my classes but I live off campus and I wont be able to afford my apartment rent or even less move out of my apartment to go elsewhere.

So I'm going to fill out a SAP appeal, but I'm scared crapless they'll deny me even though I am a good student I just happened to have one bad semester. I went to community college first before transferring to this university (this is my fifth year of school) and I had a 2.9 GPA before I transferred, already have my associates and on my transcript I have way more A's and B's then I do C's. I'm writing my appeal letter but I'm just afraid my excuse of just having more stress than I could handle during the semester is not going to move them, so do you think the other facts will gain me a appeal? This is the first time in five years I have ever had a bad semester.

Also I know that the evaluation for financial aid is supposed to be yearly with both fall and spring grades taken into consideration, but I've only been at this school for this spring semester. Can I use that against them at all?
