Can someone please tell me about Sarah Lawrence? I've researched it alot, but I believe I need more information. How selective is it? Everyone says that they look for "unique" students and all, but realistically, would admission here be tougher then a school like BU? (i know the 2 schools are difficult to compare)

Fit is all important for Sarah Lawrence. They want to know you want to be there. A strong high school curriculum is critical - they prefer to see 4 years of math, 4 years of science, 4 years of language. In other words, that you are a serious student. They don't look at SAT scores much but to give you an idea, the mid range verbal scores are 600-700, math 540-640. Median GPA is 3.6 but again, they look beyond the GPA very closely to see how challenging a curriculum you've chosen. They accept 41% of applicants so yes, it is definitely much more selective than Boston U which accepts about 58%.

My advice about Sarah Lawrence is that it is a good school but definitely not for everyone. It is one of those schools that you absolutely HAVE to visit - and more than once if possible - to make sure it is the right school for you. We've seen quite a few unhappy SL students here on CC looking to transfer elsewhere. They all say the academics are great but they didn't feel comfortable in the atmosphere so make sure it is right for you.
