BU chance?

I would like to have all of your honest opinions please…

SAT: 1720
Taking 4 AP’s right now, always took honor classes or AP courses

recs and essay are excellent

Do you think i can get in college of arts and sciences at BU?

Looks good. I would say chance is 95% plus CAS accept a lot of students. U will get in.

no offense sowmit, but where are you getting your BU admissions information from?

I think you have a chance of getting in but 95% is an outrageous number. If anything, you'll get into cgs but I have to say I know some cgs kids that have better stats. BU is getting a lot more competitive and the avg sat score last yr was between 1850-2080. Good luck!

What were the CR/M scores? I ask this because although they look at the W score, I don't think it is weighed as heavilly. I agree with above poster, I don't think anyone without a 2200 has a 95% chance -- but you should definitely have a shot so go for it and good luck!

thank you for all who replied. CR: 530 Math:550 Writing: 640

your sat score is REALLY low so if you're a junior i would retake it or take the act, and your gpa is also a little low (i think average accepted was 3.5 or 3.6) but if you improve your sat scores you'll definitely have a better shot.

That's not so LOW, at all.
But I would probably retake it. I took mine 4 times :)

Those scores are fine. They are above average.

you guys do realize that without the writing, the combined sat score is a 1080, right?

I think you're good but you should consider cgs, you would be very competitive in their applicant pool. I'm applying for cgs but my gpa is way higher then yours but SAt scores close. I think you have a chance! But then again I'm an applicant what would I know? (lol) Good Luck!

AliAngel, BU looks at all three scores of the SAT; not just CR and Math.

ok just for perspective, i was entering BU in 2005 as the class of 2009 (BEFORE writing was implemented) and here were my scores which were average (average satI was 1310) and the averages have increased for each successive class year

SAT I: 1320 (690 math, 630 verbal)
SATII: 750 writing, 720 math, 620 french

chris2k5, I think you are greatly underestimating the admissions statistics of BU. I agree that the OP definitely has a shot at BU but I think it's ridiculous to say his scores are above average when the middle 50% of sat scores are 1850-2080.

And as AliAngel pointed out, BU is getting more competitive each year.

I am a Class of 2011 student and had:
SAT: M- 710, CR- 710, WR-660
SAT II: USH- 760, WH- 730, Chem-700
