Sat 1 Writing Score

ok, I just wanted to know, exactly how does umich evaluate the writing section on the sat 1?

and the act for that matter...
my composite score was a 32, but my english/writing score was only a 30..

I got a lowsy 8 on writing..

how do colleges look at that?

mich hasn't placed much weight on it yet. they've essentially ignored it up until now.

with that said, if you have like a 550 while someone else has a 750, expect a comparison to be made.

What do you mean, up until now?

what do you think i mean

oh well i didn't know they started to put weight on it.

Where did you hear this?

bump

will an 8 on the writing section of the act be frowned upon?

its 8 out of a possible twelve.

its read by 2 readers i think, each giving a score 1-6.

i got two 4's

hah, yeah, I got an 8 on writing, but a 35 on English, 34 on Reading... 32 composite. Subjective things don't seem to work out that well for me. Terrible prompt too.

It was horrible..

i hate time writing. I hate it more when i dont give a **** about what i'm writing about.

during a visit to my school, the adcom for my region said that they're not looking into the scores too heavily yet...but she did say that if you got a 7 or less on the essay that it would send up a "red flag" on your app...lol...good thing too considering i just barely squeaked by with an 8!

on the sat i got an 11 on my essay but screwed up too much on my writing mc...
