If you have a crappy writing score and feel as if it will hurt you...
THINK AGAIN! My councillor rescently went to CMU for some kind of conference and she was TOLD THAT CMU DOES NOT REALLY COUNT THE WRITING SECTION!

THe proof that the writing section is not counted as part of the SAT1 is in ur application check up page.

YOUR MATH and CR are listed as a SAT1
for the writing is pushed DOWN as a SAT2!

COOL!

(just felt like posting something... feeling bored sigh... actually VERY RESTLESS)

ya lol i did horrible on the writing section (good thing i too 3 other SAT II's so i guess they won't count the writing unless they are going to count all 4)

I really hope they only view your ACT scores, especially if you are planning on doing CS or engineering. My cr and writing scores were similar to yours. Our ACT spreads are close. I had a 34 comp, 35 math, 35 english, 33 reading, 32 science (which made me a bit angry because I had a 35 on it the time before!)...my writing score was still horrible, though!

HAHHAHAH what a great thread...
btw i have 770math 670Cr and 560 Writing...
WHich is REALLY REALLY messed up seeing that Im in AP English and Honors Junior ENglish before... hahahah o well.

My other SATIIs are good so =P

I was just wondering...

Are these stats good enough fo the MSC?
Math 770 CR 670

N2Karaoke, I hope so too! Especially because I applied 1. CIT-ECE and 2. SCS. I would not have even sent the SAT scores but I had to send them in order to send the SATII scores which are not bad.

I heard they only look at your highest though, hopefully they will look at the 35 math and not the 680!

GWB, maybe your writing score will help offset the cr scores. i would think that the math scores would be more of a focal point with the schools you are applying to. i don't want to trade my 34 for your 760, but i'll trade a 33!!!

ehiunno, i hope they only look at the highest scores, although i'm sure there are times when they analyze all scores. for example, i also applied to brown. when the admissions rep came to my school, he advised me to only send my act scores. i guess a 34 act looks shaky compared to 2120/770/720/620(oops! physics-not my strong point!) i hope cmu is not like that b/c i think i sent all of my scores to them.
