I asked my college center teacher about sat 2 language tests and she told me that colleges don't bother looking at tests without the listening portion nowadays.

is this true?

If you can't take it with listening you probably don't know the language very well.

I find that highly unlikely. Yes, it is generally seen as better to take it with listening. But if taking the test in November is simply not feasible for you, since that is the only date on which it is offered, then go ahead and take the one without. I find the idea that a college wouldn't look at a test without listening to be utterly ridiculous. Unless a college says they don't accept it, then they do.

Thank you pinnipotto. I had to take my French in November so it was impossible to take listening. And I hear the tests with listening are even easier than the written ones. Reading and writing are as important as speaking

i've never heard of this before. hmm, makes logical sense if the w/listening test is valued more, but i doubt it's as extreme as "they don't even look at scores without listening"

At least, I know the French exams I take at my college are all written, so I don't see how written languages won't do.
