I am a freshman moving to ap PSI physics B next yr. Have taken PSI physics honors before. Do i need to take Physics C to take the subject test? Since u can't use calculators, are the conceptual questions easy. How is the multiple choice to AP similar and differnt.

No 0 physics C needed. IT’s all B plus some extra stuff like time relativity.

The conceptual questions on the subject test are very easy (wayyy easier than Physics C, and also easier than Physics B). They require no Physics C or calculus; however, they do require knowledge of all the topics on Physics B, and a few more such as contemporary physics, special relativity, and a couple other things. Physics B actually prepares you better for the subject test than would the Physic C’s alone.

so i NEED to invest in a special subject test book and not just an AP book

Well, you could just identify the stuff that appears on the subject test that’s on the AP and study that.

But I guess an AP book and a subject test book combined can give you a more favorable chance of a high score. But look for a cheap or used subject test prep book.

For a second I thought PSI Physics was pounds per square inch :)

You don’t need any courses of any type to take SAT physics. SAT Physics is a lot easier than Physics C, no calculus required and the conceptual questions are also easier.

well PSI is not pounds per square inch, its Progressive Science Initiative
