SAT 3+ Times

Is it bad to take the SAT 3 times (and maybe a 4th time)? I scored 2090 in May and plan to write again this Saturday. I am hoping that after getting used to the testing environment and so on I can score low 2200s this time but in any case I feel like great, intense prep over the summer can get me even higher. So, I plan to take in OCT. regardless.

I am a international junior student.

I know there is score choice, but some schools want ALL scores. So, I'm worried about these schools. Would 3 SATs look bad? And if I somehow mess up on the OCT. SAT then would a 4th one in Nov. give me no chance at all?

My initial plan was for the May SAT to be a high 2100s score, but that didn't work out. I figured that with score choice it wouldn't matter what my score was so I didn't care. I wanted the use the June + Oct. to superscore to 2300+. But now I realize some schools want all SAT scores and I don't know if 3 (or maybe 4) SATs would look really bad....

And I haven't done a lot of prep since my May SAT but I think 2200 is reachable.

Please help me out...i don't know if I should not write in June and just go for it all in October. I also have SAT IIs and ACT prep + college essay and visits + baseball over the summer, so I have a packed summer too...but I would have a couple weeks or so to do really, really intense SAT prep (like all out, 6+ hrs. per day lol)

The response will depend largely on how the specific admissions officers who view your application feel about retakes. If the majority of the selective schools that you are considering allow the use of Score Choice, it’s alright to retake – especially if you feel that you can improve considerably. Remember: achieving a high score is most important; worries about the negative interpretations of retaking are secondary.

yea, schools using score choice are the ones I’m not worried about because I’ll just send in my best two. What about Yale, Cornell and such schools that don’t use score choice?

please CC, I need to know ASAP to change my test date!

Also, I am kind of scared that I will ''choke" on the Oct. SAT if I just do by the ‘go big or go home’ method of just retaking once in October with serious prep in the summer.

What do you guys and girls think? What are the top schools that don’t use score choice? (i know of Yale, Cornell…any others?).

Help me out! And is there any way of getting around the 24$ fee if I do chose to not take the June SAT?

I would recommend taking it as few times as possible. If you think about it, it would look terrible if you got a 2300 on your fourth try.

My bro took it 4 times… still got into nyu
