alright so i failed my sat (under 2000) but i got a 35 ACT and a 800 math II and 760 chemistry for my sat 2 subject tests. I am wondering if I am able to just send the ACT and the SAT subject test scores without sending the SAT 1 score.

I’m pretty sure that you have to send all SAT scores together, but things may have changed since I was applying to colleges.

They don’t have accept score choice, so you’d have to send it allllll your scores…

BUT they offer the option of either SAT with 2 subject tests or the ACT, so I’d just send in the ACT and forget about the SAT’s…

Good luck. :)

no, no, no…those responses are not correct. you can submit your act score with your 2 subject tests to almost every school and you do not have to submit your sat 1 score. there are just a few schools who will want you to submit ALL scores, so then you would have to submit the sat 1.

Rice is one of those schools. Rice wants you to submit ALL test scores. Just do it and don’t worry about it. Your ACT scores are above the middle 50% range. And some do better on the ACT than the SAT. Admissions knows this. The admissions process is holistic, and one test score is not going to serve as the basis for a denial. So send all your scores, since thats what they want, and if the rest of your application is strong don’t worry about it.

See [Future Owls](<a href=“Office of Admission | Rice University”>Office of Admission | Rice University) for detailed information from Admissions.

The way that I read Rice’s policy, is that they don’t want the highest R M W across sittings.
Since you took the SAT subject tests at a different sitting than the SAT I, you should be able to submit your ACT score and your SAT subject tests. You can call Rice admissions to verify.
