SAT + ACT

Hello! I am currently a junior and I will be taking my SAT and ACT around March / April. I know I have a while and I probably won’t start studying till later. I scored really badly on my PSAT (900, yikes) because I didn’t realize what it was and just BS’d it (I didn’t even bring a calculator and guessed on almost everything). I am serious this year and I want to aim at least around 1400-1500. I have really high expectations!

Anyways what are some tips for studying? When should I start studying. Any books I should buy or rent for the SAT or ACT? Should I be stressing about it now?

A jump of 500-600 points is a bit on the fanciful side. I am sure it is possible, perhaps over several tests, but it has to be very, very rare. Your best chance to make that leap would be to take a SAT prep class and/or get a private SAT tutor. There is nothing wrong with self-studying, but to make the size of leap you are hoping for is likely going to take more than that.

Thank you!

Okay thanks! I am usually a straight A student who takes AP classes / college courses so I’m trying to have a high goal to challenge myself.
