Everyone, what is the conversion for the SAT scores compared with the ACT scores. Like I know 36 is like a 1600 but what is a 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30 in comparison to the SAT score ranges. What is a good ACT score for harvard?

There are a bunch of conversions out there, but:
Collegeboard:

Harvard huh?.....ummm....I would say 33+....that may be a little high but at least 32. In all seriousness though, I would rather send an SAT score becuase it is more preferred on the east coast.

Thanks! Since I am URM they will cut me some slack but I need at least a 33. However, does the ACT reallt hurt your application? If they accpect both then....?

apfreak, a 32 ACT is 99th percentile of ACT test takers. It appears to translate according to collegeboard, mother of the SAT, as a 1420 which I believe is 97th percentile of SAT test takers. The range given is 1410-1440 (still 97th). Imagine that- CB, dissing the ACT test taker. I believe the adcom from Harvard that I spoke with several months ago on tour that said the ACT was readily accepted by Harvard. At the same time , D is retaking her 32, primarily because she bombed the science and doesn't want that score to see the light of day. Her SAT 1 is consistent at 1470 CR+math (99th for female test takers, male 99th starts at 1500, female at 1460). I honestly don't see that much difference but Princeton obviously does, and Wake for some reason.
