Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions on prepping for both the SAT reasoning and PSAT tests at the same time?

Since the tests are very similar, if you prepare for the PSAT, you'll be preparing for the SAT as well. You can use an SAT prep book and just don't study the essay writing section until after you've taken the PSAT. The subject matter and level of difficulty is the same, so you don't need to get anything special for the PSAT. The main differences are that the PSAT doesn't have as many sections as the SAT and that the PSAT doesn't have an essay question.

^The PSAT's actually a bit easier.

if the PSATs are easier, then why does the collegeboard tell people to add a zero onto their PSAT score to find their equivalent SAT score?

You generally take the SATs a little later. They include slightly harder math concepts, etc.

The PSATs are , indeed, easier, and usually taken a year before the SATs, therefore they can be used as a rough guide to predict SATs. But it is just an estimate.

I had the same question last year. I found out that the PSAT is shorter, the math is a bit easier, and there is no writing section. To me the differences between the two are small and I prepped for the PSAT using SAT materials. I over prepped for the PSAT but now will be better prepared for SAT. I hope!
