Sat cheat

when sat is released that day do internationals take it couple hours before we do? is there anyway they can post information because they will take it couple hours before us? has this happened before?

there have been several incidents in asia (china or s. korea) where the entire SAT has been canceled because of cheating. Sometimes teachers tell students the answers, or students get the answers before hand.

how would teachers even kno such things? do internationals take it before or after us?

well if you think about it, even in the US teachers (proctors) get the test a day before at the very latest (internationals probably get it even before that) They could simply make photocopies or just tell the kids the answers - not many people take the SAT in korea so i guess there isnt as much security

I think it is horrendous. And the fact that you are even contemplating is disgusting. And to think that people of that sort get into good colleges. Just work your ass off and get the score you deserve people. Isn't that what we are all doing?

I KNOW!!!!! i agree. are you really that desperate that you would do that???

Well of course internationals such as myself theoretical COULD post the answers but that would jeopardize the legitimacy of the test, and there could be some severe repercussions. Imagine having to take the test over again because some stupid ***t decides to give the answers out to everybody.

I finish the test before people in the US even leave their homes, but I NEVER mention anything until 24hrs after i've taken it. In addition, there's ways that CB can track us down. Don't even say, "Ohhh it was a tough one" because CB could contact CC with a warrant and ask for our IP address (which is logged everytime we make a post), which could lead to our test results being revoked or even large fines.

Also, don't you have any morals? We've all thought of the possibility of cheating, but in the long run you'll question you'll regret cheating. Anyway, the material on the SAT is always the same, so its not like there's going to be any surprises.

here the test reach the 'American Center' the night before. They're left under lock and key till the next morning and reach the test centers only half an hour before the starting time.
Teachers at the test centers only look at the test while it's administered (at least at my school) so there's no way to know what's on it beforehand.
Even if I do post anything about the test, for some reason, the tests are ALWAYS different. so even if someone did cheat, they'd be cheating the wrong answers. Even the essay topic is always different.
the only way know of that a test can be known beforehand is if someone xeroxes one of the copies before the test (it happened once in cairo and the test was canceled.)

It did happen a few years back. Someone from Singapore told someone in Saratoga High, CA the question and stuff. Not sure if anybody was caught, unlike the Korea thing, but it did make the news for some reason.

Most people have dynamic IP addresses that change every once in a while. I can change my IP address myself if I reset my router and cable modem....so that theory of yours is defunct. Sure they can track...except the IP address wouldn't locate you anymore.

Just follow your ethics and don't cheat on the SAT. Honestly, it's one of the few things in life you shouldn't cheat on.

Agree, IP addresses are dynamically allocated.

So?? What is your point? That it does not matter if we cheat??
This is stupid. Everyone should get what they deserve..

debate_addict, it simply means its not as simple as you think for College Board to track you. If you bothered to read the last part of my post...

It is impossible to be 100% anonymous on the Internet. If you have a dynamic IP, CB can still track you by contacting your ISP with the IP and time. If you want to be near 100% anonymous, use a proxy chain in an Internet cafe.

I was not referring to you predator, the "you" was a general one. I was just pointing out that we should not be feeding these threads. Ethos should be above all. i for one have seen tons of kids get into unis with not so good SATs and amazing scores (for example, a girl one grade higher than me got into Yale, MIT and so on with low 600s CR and W, and 800 Math)

how is that cheating? so she's bad in english and good in math.

No, that is not cheating. She got that score fair and square. And in spite of the low 600, she got into Yale.

how about this....

Don't cheat!

I like it orange!!

Don't cheat!

^ copycat .
