SAT Chemistry with only Honors Chemistry after a gap year

I’m a rising Senior and am working on my SAT Subject Tests right now in preparation. I have already finished the Math II exam on the June testing date, and am now working on my science subject test. I am interested in becoming a biomedical engineer and then going into medicine after. Looking at many schools that I am interested in, they seem to only accept Chemistry and/or Physics for engineering and/or medical programs. I have only taken AP Physics I, my Sophomore year so I will be unprepared for the Physics II content, and thus threw out the idea of taking the Physics Subject Test. The issue is, I took Honors Chemistry, and not AP my sophomore year and don’t remember much. I think with intense studying, I could pull it off. However, I barely remember my chemistry knowledge at this point. I am going to be taking AP Chemistry next year, and do have the textbook. But, what I am wondering is getting a good score in this situation even vaguely possible? If so, what good resources/books should I use to study? Also, I will be studying for this while studying for the biology test as I have taken AP Biology.

Would not advise unless you get a prep book and work hard on it. I didn’t do as well as I would have liked after AP Chem with ~6 months gap between the class and the test. It’s not easy.

Okay thanks. I was aiming for above a 730+ or 750+ to apply for the Honors Medical School at Northwestern. Its the only subject test they accept.

Take it. It’s going to take a lot of time and effort to score high though… But for Northwestern HPME you need it regardless
