SAT & Class Rank Set Record Highs

The record SAT average score of 1427 is 6 points higher than last year's. Last year, WCAS had an average of 1436. I suspect this year's average is above 1440. I wonder if WCAS has higher average than McCormick again.

I heard someone here say the that this years average was 1470 and I got worried. Least my SAT score is still competitive if its 1440 or so.

1470 is the average of ADMITTED students. The numbers in my OP are stats for the actual ENROLLED class.

Remember too that this is an AVERAGE not MEDIAN score. Many schools will only release medians or 25-75%iles. Be careful to compare apples/apples.

I expect median to be higher than the arithmetic mean (commonly known as average) for many top schools, including NU. For marketing purposes, reporting median would make a school look better. NU is one of the few schools that don't inflate themselves or mislead people in this area--they always show the mean (instead of median) and the stats for the enrolled (instead of admitted) students on their website.
