SAT Critical Reading Low

Hi everyone,

I recently took the November 2014 SAT and I was pretty shocked with my score. I got a 680 Math, 680 Writing, and a 530 in CR. When I took practice tests, I never got below a 600 on CR, but on the actual test I got a drastic 530. This was my second attempt on the SAT, but I got a 530 on CR on my first attempt as well, so there wasn't any improvement.

I've tried out noitaraperp's CR method and it really helped a ton during practice, but I don't think it's pushing my score past 650. Anyone else know some helpful methods to improving critical reading scores? Obviously practice and consistency are the main ones.

Thanks,
anippani

Prior to the November 2014 SAT, my best composite score was 2150 (770 math, 630 verbal, 690 writing). I earned this score through the October exam. Between the two tests, I bought a new Official SAT Prep Book and took a practice test once every Saturday. I also got a Barron’s Hot Words for the SAT book. I raised my score by 200 in November to a 2350 (800 math, 760 verbal, 790 writing). It was my third time, but I knew I could get the score due to my 35 in ACT on my first try. CR is all about vocab, so study up

I think Erica Meltzer’s book is very helpful for CR
