I've heard rumors about getting an higher score on the SAT during certain months because the curve. Is it true that if I take the SAT in May I will probably get a better score than if I take it in October?

Each test given has a different curve (albeit the curves are usually similar), depending on the difficulty. For instance, a raw score of 51 on the Math portion may translate to a 720 in May, and a 740 in October. However, the curves are not released until after the test was administered, so one really can't "play" the SAT.
