SAT Deadline for UIUC?

Can someone tell me the deadline for SAT scores when you apply early action and is it possible to take the Nov. SAT and update my old score with the November if I am already applied to UIUC as early action.

I do not think UIUC will substitute scores from a test taken after the early action deadline (based on some dated UIUC admissions blog posts). The application requirements page is not clear on this though, so it’s reasonable to ask your regional admission officer what is the latest SAT test you can take for EA and/or RD.

@Mwfan1921 Ok thank you and should I ask by phone or email?

Unless you know who your AO is, you will have to contact the admissions office first to get that person’s name, as most annoyingly, UIUC does not make that info readily available. You can phone or email the main office, they should be able to answer your question, and can also give you the contact info for your AO too. https://admissions.illinois.edu/contact

UIUC requires scores to be in its hands by Nov 1 to be considered for EA. Thus, the latest test you can take for EA is the October SAT. It is easy to get scores in because UIUC requires neither a transcript nor official test scores to apply – you can self-report your grades and test scores in your application for admission.

For regular admission, includng those deferred early action, UIUC takes through the Dec tests.

Adding to the above. If you, in fact, have a completed application that includes test scores in by Nov 1, it is theorectically possible to add later test scores for EA, but as a practical matter, it is likely not going to have an effect. UIUC starts making EA decisions as soon as completed applications are received and once a decision is made, UIUC will usually not revisit it when any new materials are submitted. The problem with the Nov SAT is that any decision concerning you is likley to have already been made before those scores are received, but there is some chance that the score might arrive in time to be considered.
