Hi, I was wondering if colleges require sat scores to arrive at their school by the deadline??? I realized that the SAT deadline for some of the schools that I was applying to was January 1st, so I literally sent them today, 2 am in the morning of December 31st. I looked at one college and it said it accepted SATs taken by december, does this mean im too late?
Pleeeeeease help!!!!

All colleges list the test deadlines. Indeed many still accept the Jan SAT sitting and the Feb ACT testing. What does that tell you about how they’ll view your score report?

So does that mean colleges will accept the date of the SAT pretty leniently? I hope they don’t just throw out applications that do not have the SAT scores arrived by the first? Should I be worried about this?

You and about 5000 other CC applicants are in the same boat (not kidding. Between now and Jan 3, there will be a million posts about late scores, late rec letters, panicked “my school is closed right now!” – just watch). Although it’s not 100%, colleges are generally VERY HAPPY that you’ve applied and will do their best to completely evaluate you and accept you if possible. They’ll be lenient wherever they can. Remember this:

Colleges to you: 4 years of fun, discover, education

You to colleges: 4 years of TUITION dollars!

They have a lot at stake too! Remember all those flyers/emails you’ve gotten? They really want you to apply. It’s not in their interests to install hair-trigger failure options. Good luck to you

Okay that definitely does make sense. Thank you for your help and advice!
