Hey guys I need help with my SAT essay. 16 Male Junior, I am taking practice SAT’s now and will do the real one soon. I am using a personal tutor that comes to my house and she helps me and teaches me. I am taking the NEW SAT and not the old one in case anyone is wondering. I understand most of the techniques for the other subjects but not the essay just because I am awful at writing essays. It is optional for the real test correct? What benefits do I get if I do the essay? Anyway, I get to type my essays online and submit them to graders from the study program and they grade them.
On the first practice one I did (WITHOUT essay at school) I got an 1170. The first one I did at home with the study program I got an 1120 and that was with the essay. On the essay I got a 7/6/5 and the grader put this as the comment:
This is a good essay, and you have done a fine job of analyzing what Carter is doing to persuade his audience. Strengthen your essay by including a conclusion featuring a summation of your main points and a restated thesis.
I don’t understand what she means and I want to do well on the essay portion of the SAT. Can someone please help me? I hate the SAT essay part.
It sounds like you didn’t write a concluding paragraph. The comment means do that, by summarizing your main pints and restating your thesis statement in a different way.
Dude that’s BS no way I’m doing that… Are you serious? That’s so unfair to the thousands of others that take the test LEGIT.

Someone posted that they just paid someone else to do the essay for them. No joke. I swear. I’m sure they got banned or the post got removed. they said they pay someone to do it for them. That’s what I said that for.
It’s true. I saw it and flagged it.
I don’t think getting someone else to"write is for you" is even possible though - I believe the test is done on the spot at the testing location. I think what he/she meant was the college app essay, which is just annoying but the sad truth is a lot of ppl who can afford it do do that to at least some extent.
