What could this mean for the new generation of High Schoolers? I wonder.

"2011 marked the first year that the ACT, the SATs closet rival exam, surpassed the SAT in terms of the number of students who took the exam."

This could be one of the motivation for the reform. Maybe the SAT will add Science and rearrange the timing of the section.

I want to share a personal experience. I took the SAT the first time and got 1580. I took it the second time and got 1620. Now a couple weeks after the SAT I took the ACT. Reading was my highest with a score of 28. Followed by Science with a score of 25. And I got a 25 composite score which equal to 1700+ in SAT terms. Overall, when I did took the ACT, It felt straightforward. Only one restroom break, but time flew fast. Also I should say that I had time to actually finish more of the ACT then I did with the SAT sections.

Took the SAT in November 2012 and got a 1850- 600 in Math, 610 in Writing, and a 640 CR
Took the ACT in December 2012 with only a week ish off good prep got a 30- 31 on Reading and Writing and 29 on Math and Science. The ACT was more straightforward, less tricks, and the time was better, and the fact that there is no points off for incorrect answers.

Haha yea @CSI
Most people think ACT is a weaker alternative and that no schools would accept them. HAH. Even my grandpa knew that ACT was easier even though he didn’t even take it.

So they’re going to reform it to make it easier?
I though both tests were made so that the average score was fairly low so it would actually mean something to have a high score and colleges could tell the difference between 4.0 GPAs at different schools.

People where I live don’t even know what the SAT is. My GC had to look up my SAT score on an ACT equivalence chart to see if it was good or not.
Hardly anyone at my school took the PSAT because for some reason all the juniors believed it was only for sophomores.

Personally I LOVE the ACT in comparison to the SAT…
I have taken both, my ACT score was slightly better. That being said it is just a nicer test and much more consistent in difficulty then the SAT.

I have 5 prep books for the SAT and 1 book for the PSAT. I only have 1 book for the ACT. I’ve taken the SAT, but haven’t taken the ACT yet. I haven’t gotten the scores back from my SAT yet, but I think that my scores for both tests will be similar according to score conversion charts.

Different tests are harder for different people. Even though they technically equal. If you are good at answering straight forward questions quickly you will probably do better at the ACT. If you are better at answering more complex questions if you have time you will do better on the SAT. People’s math and science skills will also greatly effect scores (ACT math is harder/SAT does not even have a science section).

Tomatox1: if you are still using the word “■■■■■■■■” as an insult you have awful logic. I’m sorry but I cant stand when people use that word as an insult. There are actually people in this world who have disabilities and are actually “■■■■■■■■” you don’t see me calling all ignorant internet trolls “tomatox1s” do you?
