Hi all, this is my first post here and I need SAT advice. At my current state, I can average around 1600 on the SAT. Any tips on how I can get to 1900-2000? Btw, i have a kaplan sat book, but i doubt how effective it is.
Official CB materials (such as the blue book) are probably your best bet. Also, check around all the other forums.
Isn’t it funny that you posted a thread titled sat help and here you are in the sat preparation forum–what a coincidence! Take a look at the threads pinned to the top of the forum, there are threads specifically with the help you are asking. Look at the ones by silverturtle and xiggi.
I bought Princeton Review’s word smart books and studied 50 words everyday, reviewing them every 3 days. Next, I bought the blue collegeboard SAT book, as well as other test prep books I could lay my hands on (PR, Baron’s, etc.) and did as many practice tests as I could.
Some may say that PR and Baron are not representative of the real exam. In my personal experience, though the difficulty is a bit different, they still mirror the actual SAT and help significantly.
