SAT Help

I have a number of questions about the SAT Reasoning and Subject Tests. I have been quite the fool and neglected to take SAT’s so far (now a 12th grader) because they would have interfered with ARML, research, etc. So I have a window of a few months to take my SAT’s (I’ve taken ACT’s), and I’m having a bunch of questions. Any help would be appreciated.

What would an ACT of Math:Science:English:Reading:Writing:Essay of 36:34:35:36:31:8 translate to in the SAT Reasoning?

Would lower scores on the SAT Subject Tests be offset by other performances in the subject areas? For example, would 5’s on AP Physics C and Calc BC, coupled with strong math competition/physics research performance offset weaker SAT Physics and Math 2 scores?

Is it possible to sign up for one set of SAT Subjects and then change one subject to another at a later point? (Tried to check website, got lost)

Are there any sources of past SAT Subject Tests in the areas of: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics 2, US History?

Could you tell me your opinion of the College Board’s “The Official SAT Online Course”? Is it a waste of money?

And any other information about the SAT’s I would also appreciate.

Thank you very much.

No need for reasoning test you have around a 2300+ SAT equiv

No, SAT II's dont even factor that much into admissions, more for placement

Yes

4/5. no clue

I have no idea how ACT scoring works, and there is no "official" way to translate ACT scores into SAT scores, but this[/url</a>] is the closest thing I've seen, though nobody really knows how accurate it is.

It really depends on how "weak" the SAT II scores are. This[/url</a>] is an old thread about compensating for low SAT II. Read it all the way through and specificlaly read the post by Texas137.

Yes. When you are at the test center, you can change tests, add tests or drop tests, all without doing any additional paperwork. You simply show up, take the tests you want and leave. There's no fee to change tests. If you add a test, they will bill you for it, but if you drop one, you will not get a refund.

There's a book called "Real SAT II's" with one sample test for each subject. I think they republished it as "Real SAT Subject Tests" as well, but I don't know if the new book has different tests. There are also specific books for Biology, US History and World History that will be published next month, each with 2 past tests.

Thank you for your help.

Any more input from anyone? Especially on #5?

Anyone? Please?

yea for #2, how weak r ur SAT II scores. You seem like a strong math/science applicant with amazing research. However, I have heard that AP's don't factor as much into admissions as SAT IIs. Moreover, an AP score of 5 can roughly translate into an SAT II score of anywhere from 650-800, so it is much easier to score high on an AP test than on an SAT II.
