SAT I vs ACT percentiles

Do colleges look at them differently?

For example, I scored a 1290 on the SAT I which was an 89 percentile when I took it (I believe it went down 1 or 2 points now).

On the ACT, I scored a 28, which, according to the University of California, equals a 1260. However, that is 93 percentile.

Does it matter to colleges?

bump bump bump

im sure colleges know the difference. The act has % from 11 + 12 grades where SAT just has college bound 12

For the UC, the conversion table is the conversion table and it is followed, particularly to see if you meet minimum eligibility requirements. The UC has been using that same conversion table for about 10 years and the conversions shown on its table were actually percentile matches back then. Today, with changes to the SAT, including recentering, the table is outdated. However, the UC is a bureaucracy in which rules once established are blindly followed regardless of whether they are correct or remain current. Thus, unless the Board of Regents change the rule, that conversion table will be followed by admissions personnel.
