SAT II Advice

i just need to know the best prep books for the following subject tests:

Math Level 2
Chemistry
World History(I have no past experience with this and have never taken world history at school, so i will be learning the material at the same time)

Barron's and Kaplan books

will those be sufficient to self-learn all of the world history material?

Yes, Kaplan will be

Just make sure you don't get Princeton Review

ok so kaplan for world history

and barrons for the other two?

I heard that kaplan was bad for world history, but I thought kaplan was good for math 2c if you can ingore the errors.

dont use barrons for math lvl 2 unless you pretty much know the content of the test and only need a quick review. i used barrons, and it sucked for me because i couldnt understand their explanations, i felt their lessons were too short and curtailed to be quick. Test day went bad for me as I panicked and omitted 4. Anyways, with a week of prep with barrons I got 730. I was expecting a 760 atleast since the curve is pretty advantageous for lvl 2.

ok some people are telling me kaplan is enough to self learn world history while others are saying its horrible

:] Princeton Review for Math.
Kaplan for Chemistry and World History. :] Goodluck!

How can you use a review book to self learn a subject? Are you serious? Especially World History. I hope you know you are in for quite a ride.

I heard that the practice in world history for kaplan was bad but if I'm the only one, mabey that person was wrong? As for chem, Kaplan all the way.

Math Level 2 (BARRONS)
Chemistry (BARRONS)
World History (no idea but probably BARRONS)

Barrons is harder and goes more indepth but it definitely prepares you for the worst.

just a word of advice... do NOT use the princeton review for chem.... the actual test was much harder than the practice tests given.

I cannot find the Kaplan World History book for anything!

I got an 800 on my SAT II World History

I used Kaplan's SAT II book along with PR AP World History book, and Barron's AP book. I even used PR SAT II World History book, even though its review is way too short (WWII is covered in 2 pages...) it has a good test.

"How can you use a review book to self learn a subject? Are you serious? Especially World History. I hope you know you are in for quite a ride."

What do u suggest? What topics are covered in World History

I have taken the course and cannot imagine self-studying it. Sorry to come off so crazy, some people (on here...) do self-study subjects but AP World is a 2 year, intense course in my school. What topics? From the hunters and gatherers period to present - everything. All this Asia stuff and how everything is connected. If you are confident, then I guess go for it.

I (quasi) self studied World out of Kaplan, after taking an AP euro course in 10th grade and a regular world history course in 9th grade, which didnt cover most of the stuff. I got a 720.

Kaplan's practice tests absolutely suck.

Kaplan's is ok, but I have heard that Barron's is much better.

For chem, I used PR and Barrons together. I found that the lab questions in Barrons were ridiculous, and PR's were a lot better.

I was going to do World History through self study, but now i'm all freaked out. I took AP US and AP European, this summer I'm doing a course in East Asian.... is that enough?
