Hey everybody,
I want to take the sat World History test next June.
Since everybody has just finished with the December one, which textbook (not study guide please) would you recommend that contains a comprehensive and effective chronicle of world history?

Princeton review

Princeton Review is pretty good.

Pretty much anything that you use for AP World History will work. I found that the subject test and AP course for World History aligned up very similarly.

I used Kaplan and I’m fairly confident I did well on the test. I would recommend Kaplan; its format is user-friendly and provides a good overview of history without weighing you down with random details that won’t be tested.

I can’t say as to which one(s) is/are the best books for world history prep, but what I can, however, tell you with a great deal of conviction is NOT to buy Barron’s - either AP WH or SAT2 WH. It’s unnecessarily convoluted, misses the big picture in almost every chapter), has severely misleading tests and many important events don’t even find a mention in the books. So don’t pay heed to what people may say, maintain a safe distance from Barrons.

There aren’t any really superior prep books for World History, both AP and SAT. If I had to go with one, however, I might lean towards Kaplan…

Haha thnx guys.
Most of the people in my school say Kaplan is crap and that Barron’s is good however.
They might be wrong:)
