sat II bio or chem?

Wuts easier.. Sat II bio or sat II chem..? i know it depends on what the student is stronger in but honestly, those of you who ahve taken both.. which do you feel is easier?

SAT II bio, i looked at the questions while i took the chem test easy as heck

I took bio in ma and I found it easy. I havn't taken chem yet because my course hasn't all the topics on the exam.

Both are enjoying to take. Chem is extremely easy if you are rehearsed. Bio is a lot of logic and common sense.

It seems Bio is easier. Not sure about Chem.

bio is way easier

I took both on the same day (june) last year. (end of sophomore year).

I took honors bio freshman year, and honors chem sophomore year. I got an A in bio and a B in chem.

My scores were 780 for Bio Ecological, and 800 for Chem.

I reviewed bio for a week prior to the test and didn't review chem cuz i had taken chem that year.

I honestly felt that they were the exactly the same difficulty, but chem has a much more lenient curve. I think you can get 6 wrong if you answered all the questions and still get an 800 sometimes. I think for bio the max is 2 wrong or something. That means that bio was intended to have easier questions.

I did a lot of random guessing on chem (i think i guessed on 7 questions?) but I guess I guessed well. Both test cover almost everything you can think of, but bio has a broader range of topics. Definitely take Ecology. Don't take molecular. It is so much harder. Even after taking bio and chem I still found molecular very difficult. Ecological is more logic and common sense stuff.

If you like to study and memorize facts, take bio. If you like doing mathematical calculations (w/o a calculator) then take chem. Both tests have a good possibility of getting an 800 if you are prepared.

Which book/books should one get if preparing for the Bio and Chem w/o the class?

the Kaplan books are very thorough. They cover everything you would cover in a bio or chem class, minus all the hand-on lab stuff.

Eugene, there's absolutely no way you got an 800 on chem with just taking honors (an getting a b) and not studying. Most people who take it have two years of chem (including AP) and get a's in the classes.

Chem is easier. I got a 780 Bio M, 800 Chem.

I had taken 2 years of each. (Normal, AP - no review for either).

i got a 700 on the chem and took honors and ap both the same year (block shedule), but i took it about exactly a year after ap and read a study guide during my blow off class so it might be possible to get an 800 wiht just honors

Yeah if you self study you can get an 800 with just honors, but he said he did not review at all. You cannot master all the topics of sat II chem with just honors and no studying, especially if you got a b, it's just impossible.

SAt II chem is so frickin basic too, i did better in ap than honors cause it made sense more with all the details

What your taking the Sat II withought the class? Why are you doing such a thing? You dont need that many and It didnt work out for me. I think you should just take the class. Sacrifice your history period or take care of your fine arts and vocational in the summer.
