SAT II BIO prep books

what books are good for Biology SAT II? I have princeton, SAT II BIO for dummies and the REA Bio book.... HELP ME

PR+barrons.

kaplan 10 char

cliff,s AP, Kaplan and Barron,s

Barron's is always great. McGraw Hill was going good but I found too many typos. Cliffs is the god of all Bio - but maybe a little too advanced for SAT II? What do others think?

Cliffs AP might be a little overkill for the SAT II but if you don't mind going through all of it I think its a great way to prepare. Personally, I think all you really need is barron's and you're good to go.

would bio be an easy self study......Im in environmental science write now so I could do the E sectionwith a lot of studying? What do u think?

^ You have to know molecular as well for the core. The core tests ALOT of molecular.

so.. does barron contain excessive information? or would we have to know all of its contents if we are aiming for 750 +

^ It has alot of info.. but i mean really. PR, Barrons, and Kaplan lack in SOMETHING that's going to end up on the SAT. Trust me, I know. lol

People often complain that Barron's has a lot of superfluous material. To some extent the book does contain more information than you need to know. But Barron's gives you an excellent understanding of Bio if you are willing to sit down, read and then process rather than just flat out memorizing.

After taking AP Bio and seeing how crazy the detail can get, Barron's is manageable.

Thing is that you need to understand rather than just memorize. People who bash Barron's usually memorize all the scientists and expect a 700+. The point is that if you are willing to sit down and appreciate the Bio - Barron's is for you, and you are looking at around the 750 mark. If not, Princeton Review is great but leaves a few holes open.

barrons. only book that mentioned the *****ing whale fin. if only i read it.

So is it true that the Bio SAT II (and physics for that matter) are mainly memorization SAT IIs ?

I'd say so, thats what I've been doing today! Hardly any math or calculating. Probably not the best exam for someone with strengths in math over memorizing..chem would be better.
