**SAT II Biology December 2015 Discussion**

well i thought the tree branch was 4 because the root was 4 feet above the ground and the tree only grows from the tip

@AGoodFloridian that is collegeboard for yah lol I could be wrong anyways I don’t know what they have up their sleeve

@JammyJar what were some of the answer choices

What did you guys put for the one about how the tree trunk grows??

^^ My apologies, I meant 4 in my comment, not 2. I mixed up the values.
Phew. I had no clue of that fact, went on intuition. Saved me again it seems hahah

@JammyJar , well… I know that we are included in animals, and the four alternatives had structures that, I think, humans don’t have so… I went with rods and cones.

@JammyJar I said it was rods and cones, but after the test was over I thought that some animals have grayscale vision so they wouldn’t need both so I don’t know.

I was stuck between vertically and uniformly. I might have chosen uniformly, but in retrospect, vertically sounds better. @avu017

I put rods and cones too I don’t remember having trouble with that one

@violinvirtuoso3 i put rods and cones as well

@avu017 for the tree trunk i got 4 because only the tip grows and nothing else

for the tree trunk question, i put 4 b/c the tree grows, not the branch? Didn’t the test say that the branch was NOT part of the tree, it was just “particularly attached” or something? Idk i put 4.

I probably got that tree trunk question wrong. No way the answer was just 2+4 lol

6 might be right. I don’t know if anybody is certain about that question.

it is 4 because the tip grows not the whole tree

oh alright then. and the latter question of the same tree trunk, it was uniformely or from the root/meristem, or vertically?

I put 6, which sounds wrong, because I seriously don’t think an SAT bio question can be that easy

hm, well if you put 6, what did you get for the 2nd question regarding the tree

I said the trunk was growing. And I had a feeling the equation was somewhat like that! @AGoodFloridian Oh my goodness. Why does the right answer to come to us hours after the test?! @-)

Also, I remember there was a question with ‘genetic drift’ as one of the answer choices… I don’t remember what it was asking but if any of you remember it and your answer, it would be a great help to my anxiety

for the hardy weinberg one, i put 4%

@avu017 was something about some species who had some members who were unique in some way. Suddenly a natural disaster occurs, killing most of the population, including those unique ones.
I guessed.
I guessed genetic drifting. I swear, if I got that right… Hahahah

Man, at least my memory is working today. Math skills went to the drain though.

There’s a good thing about these terminology questions though… Process of elimination is one’s best friend in those questions. You may not know what the answer is, but you know what the answer can’t be. That helps, so much…
