SAT II Chemistry May 2012

Higher than I expected. Too bad Math II was lower than I expected at a 730 somehow.

Got a 740 with no prep besides AP chem - probably will study over the summer and take it again in November to shoot for an 800

Woohoo 800 as well. Looks like a lot of people got the perfect score here…

800 here too. Honestly, if anyones gonna take AP Chem, take the sats after the AP exam. It makes it such a breeze!

@biodudeyay: I did very, very little studying for either this test or the AP Chem test, and took this mere days before the AP test. IMO, taking it before the AP test gives you extra practice in Chem and filling in bubbles and whatnot, so it was worth it for me. And hey, it all worked out fine in the end.

800 as well. Does an 800 even look good? Not being a ■■■■■ or anything but is it really common or somethin?

Well 5% of test takers get an 800 so its pretty good.

Going to take it in June. How many can I miss?

@pokemon14: Maybe 3-4? An 800 on this isn’t as impressive as I thought it’d be - it’s only 93rd percentile.

for those who got an 800, how many raw points did u get off? (score reports were released)

It doesn’t tell you how many raw points you got off for SAT IIs (at least that I could find), but I think that I got 2-3 wrong, and I got an 800.

I like how an 800 on this is 93rd percentile and a 740 on Lit is 92nd percentile haha.

for you guys who got 800, how were your Barron practice test scores if you used that book? Thanks.

Anyone know why I can’t take the sparknotes test even though I’m logged on to it? It won’t let me take the test…

Sparknotes tests are pretty glitchy. Just go back another time and it should work. Also, just so you know, Sparknotes tests aren’t particularly accurate representations of the real deal.

I have the same question as cps75^^^

^^
My son used Barrons and Sparknotes to prep for SAT II. He scored 800 on all of the Barron tests and an 800 on the actual test. He thought the Barron test questions were more difficult than the actual test, but the Barron curve took that into account - i.e., one could miss more questions on the Barron’s practice tests and still score 800.

Hey cps75, I took one barrons test and got a 800. I got the same on the real deal. However, one of my good friends got a 740 on the same test and a 800 on the may test. It’s all variable really!
