SAT II Chemistry

I took the exam. 750. Would that hurt my chances of getting into MIT? I plan on taking Physics, but that hasn't happened yet so...

I got an 800 on Math II on the same test date as a sophomore. Would a 750 hurt my chances that much?

Also, please don't provide the usual SAT ranges given by the colleges. I've already browsed through enough of those.

Thanks!

of course an 800 is better than 750, but I REALLY don’t think they will be looking to make an admission decision based on 50 points.

I’m pretty sure that anything >700 =800 in their minds, they know the score only represents an hour of your life lol

honestly I understand the 1 hour of your life thing but these tests are pretty easy… with this kind of curve I’d have to question someones science ability if they get < 750.

Well, I know the score doesn’t reflect my aptitude in chemistry; I took AP without taking the regular honors or CP course so I was just a bit lost throughout the year, but right now, I’m very confident in my chemistry ability. Is it worth retaking to improve 20-50 points though?

I think that 750 on science puts you in the middle 50% of admits, I really don’t think getting 20-50 points more is going to change what your admission decision is, and is probably not worth the money, but it is really up to you

For a different perspective:

My son took the Math SAT II in 8th grade and got 760. He went ahead and retook it last year as a junior just because he’ll be a math major and figured it would look better to have an 800. He also has an 800 on physics and a 730 in literature. (Never took the chem-he bailed on it this year)
