I received my SAT II results yesterday and was quite surprised. I went in expecting near 800 for Math level II but came out with a 690. My chem test I was happy with and got a 780.

The math score is really quite bad by MIT standards and while I was taking it I felt like my brain was dead. It was one of those days. Anyways, I can't afford a retake (~$40) and my school is all out of fee waivers (I snagged the last one to take these tests).

For comparison, my Math SAT I test score was 790. I know MIT doesn't disqualify you based on test scores but I can't help but feel like it will really hurt me if I send in this score.

Should I scrounge together the cash for a retake or just send it in?

Guys OP isn’t saying he took math 1 and 2, he’s saying that his math section on the SAT 1 was a 790, he only took math level 2 subject test not math 1.

It may behoove you to re-take it, but you certainly will not be rejected because of that score. If you have other things that show any strength in math (i.e. 4 or 5 on AP Calc exam, your 790 on SAT I math, etc.), then you are probably fine.
