I am trying to talk my daughter out of taking the SAT II this weekend. She just applied ED to Barnard which requires all scores to be reported. So since the SAT II is only “considered” and not required or even recommended it seems a bit risky to me. But she said she feels prepared and wants to do everything she can to strengthen her application. Her application is already strong and I feel it’s adding unnecessary stress.
@calmom any thoughts on this?
Assuming that she doesn’t get into Barnard ED, will the SAT 2 be required or recommended for other colleges she is considering for the RD round?
I was recently at an Open House for Barnard and the admissions officer said they will not even look at SAT Subject Tests, even if you send them. They have no desire to look and read them at all.
They are not required anywhere she is applying. So I’m going to insist she not take them now. There’s another test date Dec 1 if she really thinks they’ll help her at the other schools should she not get into Barnard. Thanks for the feedback!
She got into Barnard! No more testing. Phew!
