How difficult did those who have taken the Sat II French find it? I'm currently in AP French and considering taking it for one of my SAT II subject tests.

I took it in June (I'll be in AP next year) and scored an 800. Overall, I thought the test was pretty easy, especially since there is a generous curve (however, you do have 5 possible answer choices as opposed to 4...). My impression was that it focused a lot on vocabulary, ranging from beginner vocab to very advanced. Reading french literature will help with this! There were only a few grammar questions and they weren't bad at all. The hardest part for me by far was the reading comprehension. Again, definately practice reading french; it'll help alleviate time pressure and also introduce new vocab that will inevitably pop up in the passages.
However, since I really don't know where you are in french since different schools have totally different language programs, I can't say how you'd find it. Best of luck if you take it! :)
