Anyone taken it? I think it has one of the highest mean scores of the SAT II tests, but I'm not exactly fluent in Korean. I hear the test /w listening is fairly basic, and I'm taking an intermediate Korean class at school anyway.

Right now I'm just looking for a good prep book but can't seem to find many. Amazon has like one decent book and it's totally overpriced at $34.

I haven't seen any prep books for Korean or Chinese (and I go to book stores a lot). Maybe find someone who is fluent in Korean at your school and practice with him/her. That's what my friend did with Japanese.

Most people taking that test are native Korean speakers. The curve is harsh and 800 would still put you in a low percentile range. So be prepared for that.

On the same note, though, if you're not a native speaker you could still impress a college if you took the test and got a decent score, albeit not a good percentile because of the curve.

I could practice with a fluent speaker, but the reason why I want a prep book is so that I know the layout of the test and what to expect. A friend of mine is a fluent speaker and she only scored a 690 because she went in there absolutely cold.
