I didn’t think it was too bad, I just wish I knew they would re-use half the passages from two months ago.

I absolutely flopped on this tested. Skipped 2 passages…
So what is the deal on sending scores and such? Should i cancel or is can I choose not to allow any universities to see my score. Any links?

You can choose which scores to send, even sending only some from a single test date.

However, this would be unethical if the college doesn’t allow score choice, so make sure to check, though CollegeBoard will inform you when you send scores.

I died on this as well: I did not finish the last 8 questions and am unsure of all the others.

I only had 5 minutes to finish the last passage, so I rushed through it. I couldn’t check my other answers either. If only I had known that they reused some of the passages. Cut my life into pieces…

People who manage to get an 800 on this test are geniuses. Seriously.

I think it has more to do with practice and knowledge of literary analysis, but I have not attained an 800 (though I hold out hope, for now).

Reading/literature has always been my strong suit when it comes to school and standardized tests, but this one is just impossible for me. Yeah, they’re not necessarily geniuses, but I have mad respect for them.

I didn’t take the SAT II Literature today so I’m sorry that I’m barging in like this, but what prep books did everyone use?
I was bored and had some time (well, I just didn’t want to do hw) so I took the released subject test in the CB’s Official Study Guide for All Subject Tests and received a 690 with 10 minutes left over and while rushing since I got lazy.

Would Barron’s or Kaplan help me more with my situation?

Hope everyone did well today though! Lit sounds terribly difficult, according to one group of people, and easy, according to another group.

I did the official practice one, then worked out of the Princeton Review book. I felt prepared (though its list of literary terms did not include apostrophe, which I had looked up myself), and feel that it helped me do well. Other than the apostrophe thing, I have no complaints.

i used barron’s only, and did some practice questions online, but i wish i’d looked at other prep books.
barron’s…i felt like it put more of an emphasis on literary terms than it needed to. i ended up focusing a lot on how to identify literary devices and stuff, but i knew wayyy more terms than i needed to. people were saying the barron’s practice tests were harder, but i thought on the comprehension aspect, they were the similar level…hard. :)

Thanks for the replies I think I’ll go with Kaplan or Barron’s!

Jesus Christ.

Lit was pretty funny to me. I was at a test center where three people walked out after the first SAT II, 13 people walked out after the second one, and the only people left in the room were me and about 3 other people.

Anyway, everyone in the room took lit for fun, and personally I thought I would fail it badly. However, it felt pretty good, and I actually feel that I might get a good score in it (good meaning maybe around 500 to 600, which is good considering I didn’t study). Except for the first story and the woman story, the passages were pretty straightforward.
