Kelowna, what is his AMC8, AMC10, or AMC12 score?

^ Yeah if you think people on CC make you feel dumb go to the art of problem solving’s website! But if he’s completed pre-cal he should be fine - you could wait, but he’ll probably forgot a lot of it…

He made AIME.

Owlice - thanks!

Kelowna, i would suggest that your son waits

i also took precal in 8th grade, but took the sat II math june of 9th grade, after completing calc bc. taking calc solidifies a lot of the precal concepts, and makes it a lot easier, esp if he is doing AMC practice

also, you wont have to worry about his scores being erased if he takes it next year

actually…if your son made AIME…you shouldnt even be worrying about this!!!
i didnt make AIME until 10th grade, but got an 800 sat ii math in 9th grade
your son will do great

Thanks yodaguy7.
He is taking it this June, his call.
If the score is good, he will petition the collegeboard, if not he will retake whenever he decides to.

Yea if hes doing well in competition math, SAT II Math shouldnt be a problem…its just pure plug and chug.

Got an 800 :)

Off to write that letter to Collegeboard…

Kelowna, congrats to your son! That’s terrific!!

Now… where’s our cake?! :)

^^he already ate it :)

Dang!!! :)

crazy…
I thought I was good at math…i got a 790 (not completely happy) on math 2 and im in grade 11 (going into 12). I thought I got a 800.

however, i did NOT take any AP courses or precalc/calc (my school doesnt have any) :)

got a 770 in math 1 though. not happy, but i thought I did much worse after the test.
