SAT II Math Level Two May 2012

OMG YES 790 i was SO SCARED my hands are shaking right now as i type…

I had confirmed raw score of 42 (from college confidential messageboard posts)

750…
bad for hopeful ivy engineering student?

I was getting 780s on Barrons practice tests, yet I got a 780 on the real thing. Well this is disappointing.

At least it isn’t terrible.

I dislike that so much. I was just that close. I blame my calculator for freezing up when trying to do the last problem so I had to leave it blank.

I got a 690… :(

coffeeandtea, why did it happen?

Is 680 bad for 3.78 gpa kinda student?

Got an 800! 4 omitted and probably 1-2 wrong so probably a 43 or 44 raw score

I got a 720 and I’m damn pleased!

800!!! I am so happy!!

Well it seems apparent that the curve was 43 and higher for an 800!

Left 3 blank and I know I got at least 1 wrong. Honestly didn’t expect an 800 but meh.

730 apparently. Not sure how. I expected my scores to be the other way around, with a 730 Chem and 780 Math II. And I was scoring 700s on Barrons. I always seem to screw up SAT Math, both on the SAT 1 and the Subject Tests. I can absolutely kill the practice tests and get perfect scores on all of them, but come the actual exam and I have trouble for some reason. Guess it’s my goal to make that not happen when I take the SAT I again.

Whatever though. I think most colleges I’m applying to only recommend the subject tests, and don’t require them. And hopefully being one of the two best math students in my grade (that’s not some cocky exaggeration, I got Math Student of the Year at my school) will make up for that.

800!

Sent from my SCH-I500 using CC

Normally I’d be disappointed, but I consider myself lucky not to have gotten below 750 because I felt really bad about this test when I took it. I don’t get why I choked on it considering I got a 750 on Barron’s the night before.

Why did it happen that students who scored 750 on barrons tests got similar results in real tests?

Was it because questions were very hard, tricky or different from what they were taught?

please guys,post!

I’m using Barron’s to prepare for the June Math Level 2, so I would appreciate feedback. I took the May one, but I guess how collegeboard has us wait for scores, it’s difficult to decide beforehand to retake or not.

^ I think what you need to worry about most is the timing. Had I not practiced in strictly timed settings, I may not have scored an 800.

^^I don’t know, I think this was just a pretty hard test this time. I felt crunched for time, and I messed up the graphing on my calculator so I wasted too much time fixing it. I had more trouble than I thought I would. That being said, the problems were still much easier than Barron’s.

-6 raw score is 800? Do you guys check over your work or just work carefully one time through?
