Does AP physics 1 prepare you for the sat in physics? or would AP bio prepare you better for sat II bio
@futurecollegeguy Since AP Physics 1 is mostly mechanics and Newton’s laws, etc. (similar to Physics C, but not calculus-based), Physics 1 might be inadequate by itself. Physics 1+2 should be sufficient.
I can’t say for Bio since I didn’t take either AP Bio or SAT II Bio.
One thing I’ll say about the Physics subject test - it seems like the curve is very generous. (I’m going off of the collegeboard official subject test book.) It seems like mechanics is supposed to be around 40% of the test. If you just answer those questions (and get them right) - you still get a 600!
So I would think with a little self study you might be able to get close to the 79% needed to get an 800…
idk about physics, but I have heard that AP Bio is much harder than SAT Bio, so kids who do well on the AP test also do well on the SAT test.

To do well on the SAT II Physics exam, you should know almost everything that is covered in AP Physics I and AP Physics 2. Of course, no calculus is needed. The curve is indeed very generous, and the questions are not as in-depth as they are on the AP exams. However, the timing makes the test a bit more difficult, so you should know each topic well.
