SAT II - report them or not

Since Emory does not require SAT IIs, is it better to leave off the recent SAT II scores from the app? Scores were 740 for Math II and 710 for Lit.

Hi NJM... I would think that when the SAT I scores are sent, the SAT II scores will be sent too. So Emory will have the SAT II scores on file. Personally, since they are going to find out about them, best to put them down on the appl. In any event, Emory apparently has little interest in the SAT IIs so I would not worry.

Thank you for replying. The SAT I scores and previous SAT II scores were already sent. These are new tests taken Oct. 6.

NJMom: From what we have been told, SAT II scores can help you (if high), but cannot hurt you....If the original scores sent prior to the Oct 6 date are higher, don't send these..If these are higher, send them....I'm really not convinced it really makes a difference unless the score is an anomoly...i.e. over 750 for a student who possibly did not perform particularly well in that subject or that portion of SAT/ACT.....

If you want to be sure, e-mail regional admissions rep and ask....

I would still send them. I made several inquiries about SAT IIs. At Emory, their position consistently has been it can only help and never be used against an applicant, since they are not required in the first place. I believe the good folks at Emory.... they have been upfront about everything, at least that we posed to them.
